Good form in Eneco

Although we lost six seconds yesterday in the team time trial, we are taking a lot of self-confidence from this race with an eye to the World Championships. It was a very harmonious ride and it is no shame to lose to BMC. They had their Worlds team at the start. It is still speculative as to where we lost the seconds. Of course, we had one rider less at the start, since Tom was taken out of the race after another crash involving his head. You notice that of course on such a long distance, especially when it is a good team time trialist like Tom, who can hold up the tempo.

Personally I am also very satisfied. My form keeps getting better. The first two days at Eneco didn’t go so well. I had taken a week completely off and then I just need a while before my engine really gets up to speed again. But now it is going.

For everyone who looked closely: Yes, I have changed back to my old time trial position and feel very good with it. Even the feedback from my teammates is going in the right direction. Apparently it hurt them a lot when I was in the lead. Very good! Always a good sign, when the guys on my rear wheel suffer ;-)

I am now third in GC and optimistic for the last two days. Everything is still possible.
